Royal likely to miss Hokies' ACC opener
Posted Sep 4, 2006
Virginia Tech head athletic trainer Mike Goforth said Sunday that the Hokies likely won't have the services of flanker-return specialist Eddie Royal for Saturday's ACC opener at North Carolina. Royal, who also returns punts and kickoffs, sprained his right big toe in Tech's 38-0 victory over Northeastern on Saturday at Lane Stadium. Tech also is expected to be without starting left offensive tackle Brandon Frye, who sustained a sprained right elbow.
