Wake Forest legend Dickie Hemric dies at age 83


Dickie Hemric of Jonesville was the ACC’s first superstar, a 6-6, 227-pound center who was named the conference’s player of the year the first two seasons of 1953-54 and 1954-55. Hemric was a unanimous first-team All-ACC player both seasons, the Most Valuable Player of the first tournament of 1954 and a second-team All-American his senior season of 1954-55.
