UNC Players Take In the Solar Eclipse

It was one of the larger astronomical events in recent memory. The 2017 solar eclipse took place on Monday afternoon right at 2:42 p.m. ET. A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the sun and earth and fully or partially blocks the sun. Hundreds of students sat on UNC's quad to observe the event on Monday afternoon.
