Spurs’ Danny Green shocked by defensive accolade

Having grown accustomed to being overlooked, guard Danny Green called his selection to the 2016-17 NBA All-Defensive Second Team “shocking.” It was the first time in eight seasons he’s been honored for his defense, so it’s no surprise it caught him off guard. “But it was really nice to get that recognition,” Green said after the Spurs’ first practice Tuesday.
