By joining Tar Heels, 'nervous' Hickory Ridge star Nia Daniel makes decision of her dreams


Nia Daniel is usually cool, calm and collected with matters related to basketball, but on Sept. 19, things were different. As she picked up the phone that day, the Hickory Ridge High School junior could feel her heart began to race. This was the call she has been waiting to make since she began taking basketball seriously years ago. “Coach,” Daniel said, “I’m ready to be a Tar Heel.” (Independent Tribune)
