You may be surprised to know that the host for the first encounter between North Carolina and Notre Dame's football teams was neither Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill nor Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend. No, it was Yankee Stadium in New York City. The Tar Heels’ 1949 encounter with Notre Dame was not the first time UNC played in “The House that Ruth Built.” (UNC.edu)
