North Carolina’s struggles highlight recruiting gap with ACC giants

Despite solid results in recruiting over the last several years, North Carolina still finds itself on the outside looking in. The Tar Heels limp into October with a disappointing 1-4 record. Key personnel losses combined with a laundry list of injuries derailed the team’s season before it really even got started, eliminating any realistic hope UNC had for a fifth consecutive bowl trip.
