Cleveland HS coach, former UNC tight end, John Jacobs passes away after battle with cancer

Cleveland High School coach John Jacobs lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday. He was 49. Jacobs, a graduate of Smithfield-Selma High School, was the wide receivers coach for the football team, the head varsity boys basketball coach and the head junior varsity baseball coach at Cleveland. Jacobs was also a Tar Heel tight end and letterman in the 1980s.
