King Rice-John Calipari relationship reaches MSG, 30 years after it started

John Calipari, like so many other coaches in the mid and late-1980's, recruited as a star guard from Binghamton (N.Y.) High School. Seemingly destined to end up at Syracuse, Rice wound up at North Carolina. Still, Calipari left an impression that stayed with Monmouth University's head coach many years later. "Cal recruited me hard," Rice said. (Asbury Park Press)
