Extra Arms: Jonathan Hovis
Posted Jul 20, 2006
Last week there were some changes made to the Staten Island Yankees roster, including the addition of pitcher Jonathan Hovis. Hovis, a right-hander from UNC, was signed as a free agent after pitching in the College World Series. So far so good as he’s yet to allow a run in seven appearances and has held opponents to a .156 batting average. He pitched two scoreless innings of relief in Tuesday night’s come-from-behind victory over Williamsport.
