Jay Cox makes professional baseball debut
Amid less hoopla and in front of a Pioneer League crowd roughly 1/20th the size of the College World Series, Jay Cox made his delayed professional debut on Thursday at Mike Lansing Field. The Rockies’ 22nd-round draft pick started in left field and went 1-for-4 in Casper’s 9-5 win over Ogden. It took the left-handed hitting Cox little time to announce his presence.
