May shy on court time, but no rookie

Charlotte Bobcats forward Sean May says he's no longer an NBA rookie. His coach, Bernie Bickerstaff, isn't big on labels. However, his description of May sure sounds like a rookie. "There is no experience at all, except for the short time he played and the exhibition season," Bickerstaff said Tuesday. He often says May redshirted last season, after being limited to 23 games by a right knee injury. May says he's as good as new now, in part because he treated that injury so conservatively late last season. (Charlotte Observer)
