Northwestern head coach, former UNC assistant remembered as 'remarkable man'

"He was a remarkable man." Those words from Northwestern athletic director Mark Murphy summed up the sentiments of the Northwestern community at this morning's press conference remembering head coach Randy Walker, who died last night of an apparent heart attack at the age of 52. Murphy and school president Henry Bienen both remembered Walker as a special person that touched many lives. "Randy was one of the finest people I've ever met in my life," said Bienen.
