Tar Heels beating the best in every phase
Posted Jun 22, 2006
Just before North Carolina's game against Cal–State Fullerton, I heard one of the commentators say that North Carolina left fielder Jay Cox only had one hit in 10 at–bats in the College World Series. Well, apparently Jay's ears were burning because he pulled out of his slump in a big way. Cox went 2-for-4 and those two hits went out of Rosenblatt Stadium for home runs. Plus, Cox came up with the biggest play of the game by making the catch at the wall to save a probable home run in the bottom of the ninth.
