North Carolina eliminates Cal State Fullerton to reach CWS championship

Jay Cox's bat had been quiet in the first two games of the College World Series. It roared to life Wednesday night and could probably be heard all the way to Tobacco Road. Cox, who had one hit in his first 10 at-bats in the series, homered twice Wednesday and made a spectacular catch against the left-field fence in the ninth inning as the Tar Heels beat Cal State-Fullerton 6-5 to advance to the CWS championship series for the first time.
