It was July of 1973 when Jim LeVine, the head football coach at Charles D. Owen High in Black Mountain, was wrapping up a summer conditioning workout with a couple dozen football players. He pulled several aside and told them the school had a new basketball coach and they should stop in the gym and introduce themselves. “His name is Roy Williams.”
