John Ehle - celebrated writer, UNC School of the Arts founder, and UNC alum - dies

Winston-Salem author John Ehle, who at 92 was one of the state's greatest writers and a formidable promoter of the humanities in North Carolina, has died. In addition to being an accomplished writer, he helped spearhead the development of what is now the North Carolina School of the Arts. Ehle wrote 17 books over his lifetime, both fiction and nonfiction.
