UNC track athlete heads to NCAA meet
Posted Jun 7, 2006
Cassie King learned to embrace the thing she hated most and became an All-America. King, a recruited walk-on in track and field at North Carolina and a graduate of East Forsyth High School, has one semester of school left before she graduates in December. Meanwhile, her track career is still going strong. Tonight in Sacramento, Calif., King will compete in the semifinals of the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
