Sam Perkins was a 3-time first-team All-America at UNC, won a national championship, played in two title games, was UNC’s all-time leading rebounder for 25 years, won a gold medal at the 1984 Olympics while serving as the team’s co-captain and was named 1984 USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year. In the NBA, he played in 164 career playoff games.
