King Rice joins Vanderbilt basketball staff

King Rice, a former assistant coach at Oregon, Illinois State and Providence, has been named to the Vanderbilt men’s basketball staff. Rice, 37 and a former standout point guard at North Carolina, replaces former Commodores assistant Jeff Jackson, who recently took the head coach position at Furman. Rice served as an assistant under Stallings for five seasons at Illinois State from 1994-98. (Nashville Tennessean)
