James Worthy’s generosity makes for ‘good news’

A list of his accolades would fill a scrapbook — McDonald’s All American, College Player of the Year, seven-time NBA All-Star, three-time NBA champion, 1988 NBA Finals MVP, and member of the Basketball Hall of Fame. He certainly earned his moniker, “Big Game James.” And yet here was Worthy, back in Gaston County at the home of his Ashbrook High School coach, Larry Rhodes.
