Tar Heels Tackle Maine In NCAA Opener

Top-seeded North Carolina opens the first NCAA regional on its home turf since 1983 against No. 4 seed Maine (35-20-1) at 6 p.m. Friday Boshamer Stadium. The Tar Heels (45-13) are making their fifth straight postseason appearance and seventh in eight seasons under Mike Fox but are hosting for just the second time in program history after winning a regular season-record 45 games and the Atlantic Coast Conference Coastal Division title.
