Hobson rolls with punches as Pack tops Heels

Facing rough-and-tumble North Carolina at the ACC Baseball Tournament, N.C. State ace Gib Hobson took a big early blow that would have staggered many pitchers. But after that, the Wolfpack junior was the one who put the Tar Heels on their behinds -- back in their dugout at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. Hobson held No. 2 seed UNC scoreless after giving up three first-inning runs Wednesday as seventh-seeded State won 9-3 on the tournament's first day. (Raleigh News & Observer)
