What a game. My hat's off to the 'Heels - they played with more guts & grit than any Carolina team I've seen in a long, long time. The last time I saw a Carolina team simply refuse to lose against a quality opponent was a 1972 nail-biter against Florida, one the 'Heels pulled out 28-24.

This 2009 defense has all the tools. It's just a matter of focus - and how much help they get from the offense. Last night against Va Tech, they got just enough.

Still too many mistakes . . . but this time, the guys didn't let it snowball on 'em. A very gutty performance against a good team in an extremely difficult environment.

Congrats to the 'Heels. Maybe this is the "turn-the-corner" game of 2009 for this team. Better late than never.
