North Carolina kicks off the 2013 season against South Carolina Thursday night at 6 pm ET on ESPN. Share your pre-game, in-game, and post-game thoughts here.

The Game****s are favored by 12.5 points!  I'm not a betting man, but I think that's a bit of a stretch. I agree that South Carolina should be favored on paper (they're the higher-ranked team playing at home), but I don't see them out-scoring UNC's offense by that much given the way the Tar Heels can rack up points. UNC's offense will likely score enough to win, but the question will be if North Carolina's defense can hold up its end of the bargain.

Linebacker Nathan Staub did not make the trip to SC due to injury. This means Jeff Schoettmer will start at middle linebacker, and tight end Jack Tabb may see playing time on defense due to the lack of depth.

It has looked rather Shoop-like, now that you mention it. I know some of it is designed to keep the pass rush at bay, but you gotta open it up with this deficit.

It looks like this one is about in the books. What are your final thoughts after game one? What grades would you give the offense? defense? coaching?

It was there for the taking, but that dropped punt killed everything. We did not look the same after that. Hurst had a great game. He got a pancake early and they called a hold on him. Wth was up with Holts?? He made a great block and we completed a pass then he dives at a guys knees? But the o line held their own most of the night. We are to light along the D line.

The play calling was rather conservative also. Wish we had been more aggressive. We build some defensive depth and get a lil more experience and we could be making some noise
