A win is a win is a win . . . I guess. But this one seems a little troubling, in that the UNC offense didn't exactly "wow" with its performance. That the Carolina defense basically won the game against an opponent as out-manned as Ga Southern is very concerning. UNC should have destroyed Ga Southern and, for some, the final score will confirm that Carolina did its job. The best thing I see, however, coming out of the Ga Southern game is the fact that the 'Heels have a week off to prepare for their next opponent, a struggling-for-different-reasons Florida State team.

The worst thing coming from Saturday's game is the injury to A.J. Blue. Anyone know how bad the injury is? On tape, it didn't look good at all . . . If he's done for any extended period, I think we can kiss the UNC version of the "Wildcat" formation good-bye - along with any real hope for offensive diversity. Puts more heat on the makeshift and struggling o-line - not to mention the 3-year starter at QB who, for any number of reasons is playing more like a first-year freshman.

Nice to get a "W", but I fear that the identity for the 2009 'Heels has been set in stone: If UNC is to win, it will be because the defense does what is needed to win - including score points. That the offense is so anemic, predictable and unreliable is going to be a problem from here on out. Hope FSU comes in flat as a pancake . . .
