It took over three years and a hefty amount of visitor feedback, but I've finally been talked into hosting a message board forum for Tar Heel Times. My hope is that it can serve as an enjoyable gathering place for Tar Heel fans to share their passion for UNC sports. Currently there are three main forums: Football, Basketball, and the ever-interesting "Off Topic" board. I anticipate adding additional forums as membership increases and the the need for more categories arises (i.e. Baseball, Women's Basketball, Politics...ugh!, etc.) There are three levels of membership from which to choose. Unregistered "Guests" have read-only access to the forums, registered "Members" may start and reply to topics, and "Moderators" have full access rights along with the ability to edit posts, lock posts, delete posts, and suspend/ban the occasional unruly member. If you're unsure of your permission level, the bottom-right of this page details what actions you can and cannot perform. How to Register: To register and begin posting, simply click the "Register" link at the top-right of this page. In order to cut down on potential Spammers, we're requiring a valid email address in order to confirm your registration. Just follow the directions on the registration screen. Thanks for visiting, and enjoy the forums.

It's about time Tar Heel Times had a message forum. I visit the site regularly as a way to see all the latest Tar Heel news. I am also a member of Carolina Blue. I hope this message board will be as insightful as it is.

I wish I was able to keep up with CB, IC, and the rest of the big players, but THT is a one-man show with no budget, so hopefully these forums will help fill any information void that this site lacks.

hey thanks for starting this, I know I will enjoy this as much as I enjoy the news section, and as far as being smaller than the others, to me small boards are sometimes best

Congrats on the new forum, if it is done 1/2 as well as the site it will be an enormous success! AEM

I signed up last week and have enjoyed the board. It's nice that it is not blocked by Websense and can get on at work. The whole site is great. It does not seem as intense here as IC. It is intimidating to post over there. Thanks for the new board.

Thanks for joining us, ENC. We've only had the boards up and running since Halloween, and thus far there's been no sign of the "lunatic fringe" that tends to inhabit many of the other sports forums out there. Hopefully we can keep it that way and gain a reputation for being one of the few boards with sensible sports discussion.

Glad to see a board here. I have been coming to the site for years to read all the Tar Heel news. I hope this site gets some traffic on the boards. I think the other two main Tar Heel boards are getting a little old.

Welcome to the forums, VintageHeel!
We're growing slowly but surely. This is my first shot at putting together a forum, and from everything I've read it's following the normal course of starting slowly and gradually picking up steam. I doubt we'll ever get as big as some of the corporate-run message boards, but that may actually be a good thing.
