Romeo Langford: Learning to Live in the Spotlight

Romeo Langford is soft-spoken, so kids probably don’t hear what he has to say to them in a loud gym. And he has a shy demeanor, so he doesn’t smile much. But if you listen to the conversations, it’s clear that he takes his time. He didn’t leave until the floor was empty. Kevin Knox unfazed by Jarred Vanderbilt's Kentucky commitment

The commitment of 5-star wing Jarred Vanderbilt may have added to Kentucky's top-ranked 2017 recruiting class, but the addition may have also taken one of the Wildcats' top remaining targets off the board in Tampa Catholic forward Kevin Knox. At the John Wall Invitational in Raleigh, N.C., Knox said that's not the case. "Not at all," Knox said of Vanderbilt's commitment. (247 Sports)

Brandon Huffman, Coby White Stand Out at Joe Miller Invitational

Coby White is wired to score. Although the team results have not been what he hoped for, his singularity of focus has enabled Greenfield to remain in contention. A quick 2018 verbal commit to UNC, White is most effective when playing in transition. Brandon Huffman, a UNC commit, recognizes that he is a strong low-post player with an improving skill set and generally stayed focus on that area. (247 Sports)

Jairus Hamilton a ‘beast’ at John Wall

Jairus Hamilton knows how to get a crowd on its feet. At 6-8, 230 pounds, he plays almost every position for Cannon School in Concord. The four-star recruit in the class of 2018, is being recruited by many of the top programs in the country, including UNC, Duke, N.C. State, Arizona and Louisville. He also provided probably the biggest dunk of the John Wall Invitational Thursday night. (Raleigh News & Observer)

Roy Williams Watches Kevin Knox at John Wall Invitational

Kevin Knox is playing this week in North Carolina. UNC coach Roy Williams, who watched Knox earlier this month at the City of Palms Classic. was on hand for Knox on Thursday night at the John Wall Holiday Invitational, as was Duke associate head coach Jeff Capel. Kentucky coach John Calipari will watch Knox in the championship game on Friday. (Zag's Blog)

Jalek Felton, Juwan Gary thrill at Slam Dunk to the Beach

UNC commit Jalek Felton and 2019 5-star Juwan Gary felt Gray Collegiate had something to prove vs Mohamed Bamba, Cam Reddish, Brandon Randolph and nationally-ranked Westtown. What resulted was a memorable high school dunk fest. Felton thrilled the packed house at Slam Dunk to the Beach, finishing with 39 points (7-9 three-pointers). Gary finished with 16. (Ball Is Life)

Kevin Knox Visits North Carolina, Duke in One Day

After visiting Duke earlier Wednesday, Tampa Catholic small forward Kevin Knox and his teammates were at North Carolina on Wednesday for the Monmouth game. “Roy, he’s been at my house the most,” Knox said of UNC coach Roy Williams at the City of Palms Classic. “He’s impressed me the most.” The 6-foot-8 Knox is considering Duke and North Carolina along with Florida State and Kentucky. Wendell Moore isn’t taking a back seat any longer

Cox Mill (Concord, N.C.) guard Wendell Moore, who is ranked No. 1 in the Phenom Hoop Report for 2019, finished with 28 points and 16 rebounds in the win Tuesday at the John Wall Holiday Invitational. “I just wanted to come out and play aggressive early,” said Moore. Moore’s mentality came about after what he called a “just OK” summer, from a production standpoint. (USA Today)

Explosive 2019 SF Juwan Gary turning heads

Explosive 2019 wing Juwan Gary continued to show promise at the Chick-fil-A Classic last week, scoring 38 points and grabbing 18 rebounds during the event. Gary is hearing from Kansas, Ohio State, North Carolina, Arizona, Florida, and UNLV. Gary said his favorite teams growing up were Duke and UNC, and teammate Jalek Felton is committed to the Tar Heels. (Scout.com)

Future UNC teammates Coby White and Brandon Huffman square off

Local fans who turned out to Brogden Hall Tuesday for the first day of the Pheom Hoop Report's Joe Miller Invitational got a small glimpse at the future of the UNC men's basketball program. Word of God Christian Academy senior Brandon Huffman faced Greenfield School junior Coby White in a battle of UNC commits. Huffman got the best of White on the scoreboard. (Wilmington Star News)

Five-star Kevin Knox visiting UNC

2017 five-star small forward Kevin Knox is visiting UNC on Tuesday morning. The 6-9 recruit is joined by members of his Tampa Catholic High School team. The Crusaders are in the area playing in the John Wall Holiday Invitational in Raleigh. Knox is UNC's last remaining target in the 2017 class. He will return to UNC for Wednesday's game against Monmouth. (Carolina Blue)

Future Tar Heels Brandon Huffman, Coby White to face off in holiday tournament

Two future Tar Heel basketball players will face off today in the Joe Miller Invitational at Brogden Hall on the campus of New Hanover High School in Wilmington, N.C. Class of 2017 center Brandon Huffman of Word of God Academy and class of 2018 combo guard Coby White of Greenfield School will play at 5:30 PM on Tuesday. (Carolina Blue)

Zion Williamson, a five-star recruit, is a junior at Spartanburg Day School in Spartanburg, South Carolina. To no one’s surprise, he’s one of the best high school basketball players in the country.
