Legendary coaches Sylvia Hatchell, Muffet McGraw square off in UNC-Notre Dame matchup

Two of the greatest coaches in the college women’s game will be matching wits — Carolina’s Sylvia Hatchell and Notre Dame’s Muffet McGraw. Between the two, they have piled up 1,774 victories with Hatchell at 973 and McGraw 801. Hatchell’s total is second only to legendary Tennessee coach Pat Summitt (1,098) in the women’s game. UNC Women Outlast Syracuse For Sixth-Straight Win

UNC notched its biggest win of the season, its sixth victory in a row, with a come-from-behind 77-73 victory over Syracuse on Thursday night at Carmichael Arena. Jamie Cherry scored 20 points to lead North Carolina to a 65-60 victory over New Hampshire on Tuesday afternoon inside Carmichael Arena. Cherry salted the game away with two free throws with five seconds left to give North Carolina (9-5) its third-consecutive victory and fourth in the last five games. Oklahoma State remained unbeaten with a 77-67 victory over the North Carolina women’s basketball team Monday night from Gallagher-Iba Arena. In just the second meeting between the two schools, an 18-2 run midway through the third quarter by Oklahoma State broke open a tight game that featured seven ties and seven lead changes before the Cowgirls took control. UNC Women's Basketball Players Customize Their Own Jordan Shoes

With North Carolina being one of only two women’s basketball programs equipped with Jordan Brand gear certainly has its perks. Earlier this week each member of the team was able to design two pairs of basketball shoes to wear this season.
