Since being hired as the coach at Memphis in March, being cool has been a big part of Penny Hardaway’s job. Or, more specifically, making Memphis basketball cool, in a way it hasn’t been for some time. Four years have passed since the Tigers made any postseason tournament. Attendance has cratered. Revenue too. Hardaway’s hiring was the second coaching change in 23 months.
