Joe Girard III commits to Syracuse basketball

Joe Girard III, a 6-foot-2 guard from Glens Falls, N.Y., has committed to Syracuse University. Girard made the announcement during a press conference on Sunday night. Girard picked Syracuse from a final list of six schools that also included Boston College, Duke, Michigan, Notre Dame and Penn State. He had taken official visits to Syracuse and Boston College.
