Appalachian State hiring NC State's Eli Drinkwitz as head coach

Appalachian State has reached an agreement with NC State offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Eli Drinkwitz to be its new head coach, the school announced Thursday. The five-year deal was approved by the school's board of trustees on Thursday. Drinkwitz, 35, replaces former Mountaineers coach Scott Satterfield, who left to become Louisville's new coach.
