Minor league baseball teams change names all the time, so that’s nothing particularly new. But Wednesday when one of the Chicago White Sox’s minor league teams in North Carolina announced it’s going to change its name after this season — and is crowdsourcing suggestions — it caught the attention of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and others in the NASCAR world.
