Posted Jun 11, 2011
The University of North Carolina secured a berth in the College World Series Saturday night with a 7-5 win over Stanford in Chapel Hill. The game began as scheduled at 3 p.m. but didn't end until after 10 p.m. The Tar Heels led 6-5 when Mother Nature put on the brakes. The teams retired to the locker rooms to wait out a rain delay of more than three hours.
