Twenty Five Years of Nike and UNC Athletics

Twenty-five years later, the Tar Heels are still sporting the swoosh. UNC’s most recent Nike contract, a 10-year deal valued at approximately $37.7 million in cash and products, expired on June 30. Athletic director Bubba Cunningham has insisted for almost a year that an extension with Nike would be forthcoming, and a new deal is expected to be announced soon.
