UNC graduation goes off with minor interruption

Inside a packed Kenan Stadium was a sea of Carolina blue. The 2024 UNC graduating class that went through COVID uncertainty, a tragic shooting, and now campus protests making it to this day. "We made it work out and we're glad, we're glad we're graduating we're finally here and it's a big relief," said University of North Carolina senior Dev Patel. (ABC 11)

UNC wrapped up an eventful year on Saturday with an evening commencement ceremony at Kenan Stadium – a day that ended with fireworks, but also had one or two fireworks during the day as well. New UNC club rugby coach looks to bring competitive spirit

Joey Rasmus Jr. originally started what would soon become his lifelong passion on a whim. While training for a decathlon walk-on position for UNC’s track and field team, the UNC alumnus tore a ligament in his knee. With his motions limited, Rasmus began to fall in love with rugby. UNC wants to renovate 'The Pit,' an iconic campus space

UNC is renovating "The Pit," an iconic central space on campus. Architects said stormwater drainage has been a problem since "The Pit" was a construction zone for the student union, bookstore and library. Previously, "The Pit" was the site of the university's baseball field. Students say, when it rains, "The Pit" becomes one big puddle on the bricks. (WRAL.com)

NASA astronaut and double Tar Heel Zena Cardman is heading to space in August, but she said delivering UNC's Spring Commencement address was “the most terrifying thing” she’ll do this year. Cardman told graduates that it’s okay if they don’t know where there journey is heading, and the definition of success is entirely up to them. (View Video)

Carolina celebrates Class of 2024 under the lights

UNC's Class of 2024 enjoyed a Spring Commencement under the lights. The newest Tar Heel alumni were treated to a first-of-its-kind Saturday night ceremony at Kenan Stadium (fireworks included) and heard from astronaut Zena Cardman, who told them in her keynote speech to make their own definitions of success as they began their next chapters. Michael Jordan Returns To Wilmington To Celebrate Medical Clinic

On Tuesday, came to Wilmington to cut the ribbon on the first of two medical clinics he’s helped fund in his hometown. Novant Health announced in early 2021 that the Wilmington native and six-time NBA champion had donated $10 million to help open two Novant Health Family Medical Clinics in New Hanover County. Michael Jordan Won The 2024 Abaco Shootout Fishing Tourney And Crushed The Field With 10 Billfish

picked up a new trophy over the weekend when he and his Catch 23 boat and crew won The Shootout 24 in Abaco, The Bahamas after catching 4 blue marlin, 5 white marlin, and a sailfish to dominate the competition. There were 58 teams this year, one of most biggest billfish fishing tournaments on the calendar each year in The Bahamas. (BroBible)
