Meredith Newton Wins NCAA Elite 88 Award

UNC junior Meredith Newton has won the inaugural NCAA Elite 88 award for women's lacrosse, the NCAA announced on Thursday evening. Ryan Bamford, chair of the NCAA women's lacrosse committee, made the announcement at a reception at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore for the four teams in this weekend's NCAA semifinals. Newton boasts a cumulative grade point average of 3.893 as a double major in biology and psychology.
