Rob Hogan, Caretaker of Rameses, Dies At 54

Rob Hogan died Friday morning at UNC Hospitals after a month long battle with a dangerous muscle disease. He was 54. He is also known as the caretaker of UNC’s living Rameses mascot. His family has cared for the Dorset Horned rams since 1924. Hogan was a fourth generation caretaker. Dorset Horned rams are a rare breed and Hogan’s work has helped to give the breed a future.
