Jacobs: Second-Guessing Thorp

UNC Chancellor Holden Thorp, who’s leaving to become provost at Washington University, a private school in St. Louis, laments that monitoring athletics was the most important part of his job. Unfortunately, Thorp’s proposed solution – a more pronounced divorce of the academic and athletic sides of the university – would only make matters worse. (ACC Sports Journal)
