Capital One Cup to be presented to UNC women


UNC will be presented the Capital One Cup, symbolic of the nation’s best overall women’s sports program in 2012-13, at Saturday’s home football against Middle Tennessee. The Tar Heels, on the strength of national championships in both soccer and lacrosse and top-10 finishes in field hockey and tennis, totaled 140 points to beat out perennial champion Stanford, Oregon, Texas and Penn State for the honor.
