Women's U.S. Open Notebook: Former North Carolina star making a splash on tour

Meaghan Francella, an LPGA Tour rookie and a 2005 graduate of North Carolina, is one of the many players on the rise in women’s golf. Francella, who started her college career at Memphis before transferring to UNC, got her first LPGA victory in March when she defeated Annika Sorenstam in a playoff in Mexico.
