UNC student in midst of conflict during summer internship in Israel

Shira Chandler, a rising sophomore at UNC-Chapel Hill, is living in Jerusalem for a summer internship with the Mother, Child & Adolescent Department of the Ministry of Health in Israel. She was participating in a discussion about the biggest challenges that Jewish people face today, when the second siren of the day sounded. Her group rushed to the bomb shelter, she said in an email Saturday morning.
