Three former Tar Heels broke ground for women's soccer

Kristine Lilly holds a world record of 352 international appearances as part of Team USA. Mia Hamm won a National Championship with UNC, two World Cup Championships, and two Olympic gold medals and Tisha Venturini took part in four NCAA National Championships at UNC. "It was a pretty special time," Lilly said. Even if they weren't always aware of the ground they were breaking.
