Steep Canyon Rangers, bluegrass band started by UNC students in 2000, never tire of the climb

The Steep Canyon Rangers formed when the group of friends came together at UNC in 2000. Vocalist and guitarist Woody Platt, banjoist Graham Sharp and bassist Charles Humphrey formed the original core of a band. Mandolinist Mike Guggino and fiddler Lizzie Hamilton signed on shortly thereafter. By the time the members graduated, they were already a legitimate touring band.
