Loyola earns 1st NCAA tournament bid since 1985: 'It means a lot for the city of Chicago'

A fan at the Scottrade Center held up a sign with 30 seconds left on the clock. The black letters spelled out: “Party Like It’s 1985.” Finally, Loyola is celebrating again. The Ramblers earned their first trip to the NCAA tournament in 33 years with Sunday’s 65-49 victory against Illinois State in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament championship game.
