North Carolina moves up in D1 Baseball Top 25 ranking

After a pair of blowout nonconference victories last week, North Carolina moved up one spot to No. 11 in the D1 Baseball Top 25 ranking. The Tar Heels, who didn’t play an ACC game last week because of the final exams break, enter the home stretch of the regular season leading the Coastal Division and sharing the best league record with No. 2 Clemson. History suggests lofty possibilities for UNC Baseball, already with 35 wins

UNC is one win shy of last season’s overall win total and has the best record at the exam break since 2017. Except for that 2017 team, which was 37-9 at the break, history suggests big possibilities for Carolina teams playing so well before final exams. UNC pitcher Cameron Padgett’s tattoo tribute to former teammate

is thankful for each day he can pitch for UNC, knowing it can be taken away at any moment. The right-hander has a tattoo on his pitching arm reading "Fighter" as a tribute to a friend and longtime teammate on showcase baseball teams who knows that all too well. Honeycutt has blast leading off as retooled Heels batting order rolls, earns national distinction

UNC center fielder lined the first pitch he saw for a double down the left-field line and also launched a 425-foot grand slam over the center-field wall, all in the eight-run first inning. Pair Of Midweek Games On Tap For No. 12 UNC Baseball

With final exams beginning later this week, No. 12 North Carolina will host a pair of midweek baseball games at Boshamer Stadium before focusing on academics. The Tar Heels host Charlotte on Tuesday at 7 p.m., and welcome William & Mary to town on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Carolina is coming off a 2-1 series win against Virginia Tech over the weekend.
