UNC ends contract with Russell Athletics

UNC is cutting ties with an athletic apparel company over labor issues at its Honduran plants. Chancellor Holden Thorp sent a letter today to the members of the university's Licensing Labor Code Advisory Committee announcing that UNC will not renew the license of Russell Athletics to make and sell merchandise bearing the UNC logo. The committee voted on Thursday to recommend UNC drop the company after its current contract expires March 31. (Raleigh News & Observer)
