University leaders consistently treated Mary Willingham's unfounded claims seriously. Provost Dean and others attempted to understand those claims thoroughly and respond to them thoughtfully. However, contrary to the media's portrayal, Willingham was the one who refused cooperation. When her claims were not blindly accepted, she resisted further inquiry. (Coaching the Mind)
