New UNC club rugby coach looks to bring competitive spirit

Joey Rasmus Jr. originally started what would soon become his lifelong passion on a whim. While training for a decathlon walk-on position for UNC’s track and field team, the UNC alumnus tore a ligament in his knee. With his motions limited, Rasmus began to fall in love with rugby. Alyssa Long, Emily Nalls Receive IWLCA All-South Region Honors

Two North Carolina women's lacrosse players in Alyssa Long and Emily Nalls have received IWLCA All-South Region First Team honors. This marks the third consecutive year Nalls has earned All-Region First Team praise, and the second for Long. UNC wants to renovate 'The Pit,' an iconic campus space

UNC is renovating "The Pit," an iconic central space on campus. Architects said stormwater drainage has been a problem since "The Pit" was a construction zone for the student union, bookstore and library. Previously, "The Pit" was the site of the university's baseball field. Students say, when it rains, "The Pit" becomes one big puddle on the bricks. (WRAL.com)

The Reemergence of UNC Pitcher Ben Peterson

When steps onto the mound, he looks down at the dirt and zeros in on the smallest pebble he can find. That small action locks the senior pitcher in for his time on the bump and it helps put the job ahead in perspective. “The target seems pretty big after that,” Peterson said with a laugh.
