Jacob Stallings has been encouraged by the defensive season he’s produced thus far. He also happened to notice the recently released SABR Defensive Index rankings, which essentially serve as a midterm grade for Gold Glove competition. “Obviously defense is something I take a lot of pride in. I would like to be there at the end of the season, too,” he said. (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)
